Paper Submission Guidelines

Background

Paper Submission Guidelines

General Rules for Valid Paper Publication

  • Accepted papers MUST be presented at the conference by one of the authors.
  • One of the authors MUST register for the conference and MUST register before the deadline given for author registration.
  • One full registration can cover at most two accepted papers, while student-rate registration can cover only one accepted paper.
  • Failure to register before the deadline will result in automatic withdrawal of your paper from the conference proceedings and program.
  • Any paper accepted into the technical program but not presented on-site according to the schedule published will be withdrawn from the official proceedings archived on IEEE Xplore.
  • Papers must be submitted by the indicated deadline. There will be no exceptions.

Manuscript Preparation

Please carefully comply with the guidelines and quality requirements specified below. Papers which do not fulfill the requirements cannot be accepted and published. Papers that do not comply with the basic quality requirements (language, formatting, etc.) may be subject to desk rejection.

Authors are invited to submit articles relevant to the scope outlined in the Call for Papers. Papers must not be longer than 6 pages, including all text, figures, and references in accordance with IEEE Signal Processing Society policy and procedures in ICASSP style format, see also Code of Conduct.

Manuscript Template. To prepare your manuscript, you need to use the following template: (the first link is recommended, however if you don’t have an overleaf account you can download from the second link below)

Overleaf Manuscript Template

Code Sharing Policy. It is highly recommended but not required for the authors to submit their code along their submission. You need to make sure that the code is completely anonymized (no author information including name or affiliation should be divulged).  You can use this tool:

https://anonymous.4open.science/, and mention the link for the anonymous repo in the manuscript.

Double-blind Review Policy. Please observe that MLSP uses a double-blind review process. Thus, it is important that all potentially identifying information (such as author names and affiliations) is removed from the initial submission pdf file. When using the LaTeX style file, anonymize your paper as follows:

\name{Anonymous\thanks{Anonymous.}}
\address{Anonymous}

Preprint Policy. Uploading a preprint to arXiv or other public repositories does not constitute grounds for rejection. However, authors are encouraged to mask or modify the preprint to the best of their ability during the review period so that reviewers cannot easily link the preprint to the MLSP submission.

Initial Paper Submission

All papers are to be submitted through OpenReview.

It is strongly recommended to create an OpenReview profile before submitting your paper.

You may edit the details of your submission until the regular paper submission deadline.

Paper Evaluation Process

  • We follow a double-blind review process.
  • Each paper will be evaluated anonymously by at least three reviewers.
  • Reviewers will be assigned through OpenReview, which aims to maximize the match between the topics of submitted papers and the expertise of the reviewers.
  • A one-way author rebuttal (no reviewer discussion phase) will be conducted. Authors may submit a short response (maximum 2500 characters) addressing reviewer comments. These responses, together with the original reviews, will be considered by the Technical Program Chairs and Area Chairs in making final decisions.
  • After the reviews are completed, the Program Committee will make the final acceptance decisions.

Camera-Ready Paper Submission

Please make sure to update your paper following the reviewer comments, before the camera-ready upload deadline.

Make sure to use the official latex template and also make sure to de-anonymize the paper and your code repository before submitting your camera-ready paper.

You can upload the camera-ready version on your paper’s OpenReview page. To upload the camera-ready version, you can click on the ‘Edit’ button and then click on ‘Camera Ready Revision’.
